Child Blindness

Request for Applications Released; Funding Support Available for Eye Care Organizations

PGRD is thrilled to be a part of the team with the International Eye Foundation implementing the USAID-funded Child Blindness Project, contributing to the global effort to reduce blindness and visual impairment in children.

Partners for Global Research and Development (PGRD) recently released a Request for Applications inviting organizations from around the world to apply for grants to deliver and expand coverage of high quality eye care services for children in underserved communities.

Grants are anticipated to support efforts such as eye health education and vision screening; provision of eyeglasses and other visual aids; cataract removal and other sight-restoring surgery; provision of antibiotics and other essential medicines; and training of medical staff and community-based individuals. The program will also increase global knowledge of best practices in the eye care field including innovative approaches for pediatric eye care programs. Learn more about the program and how to apply.
